I have been a Civil Celebrant for over 12 years and I take immense pride in delivering the perfect Celebration of Life services for bereaved families and their loved one. Having worked as a Funeral Director for many years, I feel this gives me a full understanding of everything that goes into the preparation and delivery of the perfect service, and getting to know as much as possible about the deceased and the family is of the utmost importance.
I will work with the family to prepare a service that really captures the true essence of their loved one, from choosing the perfect music with which to celebrate their life, to selecting appropriate poems or verses to complement the well-chosen music. Telling the story of their life is so important on the day of the service and I will take as much time as is needed to write the perfect eulogy, and to prepare a bespoke service that is totally unique in its content and in its delivery.
We only have one chance to give our loved ones the wonderful send-off that they deserve and I will work with you, providing advice and guidance along the way, to deliver a truly memorable Celebration of Life service.
I work from my home in Haigh, Wigan, and I'm happy to travel anywhere within Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire to meet with you and your family to prepare the perfect service for your loved one. One aspect of this meeting that I particularly look forward to is hearing all about your loved one; not just the important facts about their life but what they were like as a person; their hobbies and interests for example; their musical and reading tastes; their favourite holiday places and days out.
These are just a few of the many things that friends and family like to hear about during the service and it's so important that a wonderful story of your loved one's life is told in an interesting and caring way, and a little humour within their story is often appropriate.
I have delivered Celebration of Life services across the north west over the years and I have a good working knowledge of the various crematoria that are located within the region and beyond. If I'm not familiar with a crematorium that I'm asked to lead a service at, then I will visit the venue before the service to gain a good understanding of how things will work on the day of the service.
Celebration of Life services are sometimes referred to as non-religious services, although elements of religion are often included. The Lord's Prayer is a common feature within these services, a scripture reading may also be read and a hymn may be played or sung during the service. I will work with you to put together the perfect, most appropriate service for your loved one.
